The desk where you work is a very important place, in fact it must accommodate for at least eight consecutive hours your work. His choice is therefore very important as it will affect – and greatly – the quality of your work while you carry out your daily practices.

Working, executive or presidential desk?

The first thing to do when buying a new office desk with a modern design is to understand in which space it will have to fit. There are three standard models in this field: the operational model, the directional model and the presidential model. All these models have their own characteristics and to miss this first step, could also lead to a damage image of your company.

The operating desk

If you are looking for a modern, practical and functional desk that does not have to perform representative functions, then the target you are looking for is the table of an operational office. The characteristics of this desk should be oriented towards the functionality of the work rather than the design, which in some cases could be sacrificed a little. The presidential desk

Finally we arrive at the top of the modern design office desk, that present inside the presidential offices. Here the working function is lowered even more because in this environment will take place purely symbolic and representative meetings. The different forms of desks

Staying on a modern style, the desks – which can be operative, directional or presidential -, can have different forms. The simplest ones are those of rectangular shape, classic, in which to better organize the spaces between computer, mouse, keyboard, documents and why not, even that for a map to make your work more pleasant. Measurements of office desks with modern design

Finally, with regard to the measurements a comfortable, practical and functional desk (even if of a directional or presidential type) must be at a height of 74-75 cm maximum. This will allow the person sitting behind the table to assume an ideal working position, without back or neck strain, thus also contributing to health at work and minimizing the risk of injury. The length of a desk should be at least 150 cm, this to allow a comfortable work; according to different needs but these may be longer or even shorter; in the latter case can be completed by accessories such as furniture and drawers with wheels that will allow a temporary expansion of the work surface.
